In The Land Of Grey And Pink (Caravan)

In my perception of music, several types of synaesthesia converge. Sensing coloured textured shapes in motion is usually beautiful, but it´s not the only reason for this often intense experience. Sounds also have non-visible features like physical characteristics and personalities , that trigger emotions and feelings, sometimes those of a touch within the body. More rarely, sound sequences also trigger ideas, which can additionally be associated with an unusual spatial impression. As here with the first bars of the piano solo from In The Land Of Grey And Pink (by Caravan): the single, very directly perceptible piano sounds (cubes) are accompanied by a strong feeling of discovering an unknown side of myself and a sense of new possibilities.
